Sophia arrived for her first visit to our new space feeling shy and uncertain, like so many children do when facing new environments - especially kids like Sophia, who spent so much of her childhood in and out of the hospital.

On her first visit to The Dream Factory, Sophia, who is usually shy around new people and places, quickly warmed up and had our staff colouring and making crafts in no time!

"From the moment we entered, Sophia was welcomed, celebrated, and felt truly important which was a huge boost for her mental health," Sophia's mom shared. "In our first meeting it was okay to laugh, share, and cry. I was told about the supports in place for Dream Families and encouraged to utilize them without worry or anxiety about asking."

This year, Sophia's dream came true!

Sophia rode in style to the airport with her family, and began her dream trip to Disney World! Once she finally arrived at the most magical place on Earth, Sophia tried every ride and met all her favourite Disney characters - but what really made the trip special was being able to relax and swim in the pool after each fun-filled day.
