June 2021: A Dream Ride, An Oil Change, and A Dream Drive Update!
Summer is officially here - and at The Dream Factory, that means new community events and initiatives, and of course, more dreams come true! In our shift to make more dreams come true safely here at home, summer has become a particularly important time, as it is when many of our outdoor dreams will come true. Stay tuned to our blog over the next few months for updates on camping adventures, above ground pools, backyard makeovers, and many more summertime dreams come true.
In the meantime, keep reading for an update on a few special dreams come true, and the folks who have made them possible!
The Dream Drive: 2 Special Dreams Come True!

Throughout April, our community came together through The Dream Drive to make sure that more dreams could come true for Manitoba kids fighting life-threatening illnesses. Today, we are so thrilled to share that - thanks to your support - TWO of our Dream Drive dreams have come true! Last month, both Adria's and Malachi's dreams were brought to life!
First, Adria's dream playhouse was delivered. It's absolutely stunning and Adria couldn't contain her excitement. It will be an amazing place for tea parties, dinosaur expeditions, playing with friends, and most importantly - dreaming BIG!
Next, Malachi's bedroom makeover dream came true! Malachi was dreaming of a safe haven where he could relax and play safely at home. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would have his bedroom transformed into "The Bat Cave!" the perfect space created entirely with Malachi in mind.
Each of these dreams were only made possible because of the tremendous support of our community during our 2021 Dream Drive. To everyone who lent their support to The Dream Factory this past April - you have directly helped make these two special dreams come true. Thank you.
The Dream Ride Rides Again!
Last summer, 22 cyclists came together for "The Dream Ride" and raised over $22,000 to make dreams come true here in Manitoba - a truly remarkable feat!
This year - they are at it again! The 2021 Dream Ride will be a solo, virtual event taking place on Saturday, July 24th*
Organizers are challenging riders to put their own special spin on The Dream Ride. There are no mandatory guidelines on how cyclists are to participate - as long as you get outside, stay safe, and cycle to help raise funds for two very special Dream Kids.
This year's event is in support of Brie and Aria's dreams come true. Aria (2 years old) and Brie (4 years old) are sisters who have already fought tremendous battles at a very young age. Aria has a debilitating neurological disorder and Brie has cancer, specifically Ewing Sarcoma. We need your help to bring their dreams to life.
As of July 1st, The 2021 Dream Ride has raised over $12,000 and the incredible participants are showing no sign of slowing down their fundraising efforts. What's New In Our Dream Factory Community:
June was a busy month throughout our Dream Factory community - one of the greatest gifts we receive is when members of our community come together to plan a fundraising event or do something special for our Dream Kids. Here are a few incredible examples of Dream Makers in our community who made a difference last month:
Meinard's 7th Birthday Fundraiser!
This year Dream Kid Meinard (dream come true in 2018) celebrated another year by helping other Dream Kids just like him! His idea? A drive-by birthday fundraiser! His amazing efforts raised over $1000 to help make more Dreams come true! Thank you, Meinard, and everyone who donated in celebration of his birthday. We are so grateful for your generosity! Happy 7th Birthday, Meinard!
Casera Credit Union hosts A Month of Dreams!
Throughout the month of May, Casera Credit Union employees and members across Winnipeg came together to raise funds for Dream Kid Eveline and her special dream come true. Despite a challenging set of restrictions, the team raised nearly $4000 - an absolutely remarkable result!
Over the last 10 years, Casera has raised nearly $15,000 for The Dream Factory - and we could not be more grateful for all of the care and dedication they give each year to helping make dreams come true here in Manitoba. To all of the Casera employees and members who have been a part of bringing dreams to life, thank you!
Manitoba Egg Farmers deliver dream breakfast kits!
Last month, many of our Dream Kids were very egg-cited to receive a wonderful family breakfast kit courtesy of our friends at Manitoba Egg Farmers. MEF staff and farmers safely delivered these kits - and our Dream Kids got cracking on making some delicious breakfasts with their families!

Meet A Dream Maker: Zoe Henry Designs
Finally, we wanted to recognize a true Dream Maker in our community - Zoe Henry. Zoe is the owner of Zoe Henry Designs, and has now been responsible for two incredible bedroom makeover dreams (including Malachi's "Bat Cave" above!).
While these beautiful spaces speak for themselves, Zoe also takes exceptional care with our Dream Kids and has a tremendous talent for making spaces feel magical while still incorporating elements that make the space more comfortable or accessible for the child and their needs.
We feel so lucky to have Zoe as part of our Dream Factory family - and appreciate all of time, effort, and care she has shared with us over the last year. From all of us at The Dream Factory, thank you Zoe!
