Update: Shortline makes ben’s dream come true!
Thanks to our friends at Shortline Moving Solutions, Ben’s dream is one step closer to coming true.
Shortline’s “Keep Dreams Moving” campaign was a true team effort that resulted in a donation of over $10,000 to The Dream Factory, ensuring that Ben’s dream can become a reality!
When we shared the news with Ben’s family, they were overjoyed. Ben is already thinking all about his dream bedroom: the perfect speaker system, video game set-up, and more! It will truly be a dream come true.

Because of you, another dream will come true in our community during this challenging time, and that’s something really special. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Meet Ben
“Hi, My name is Ben and I’m 15 years old and live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since I was 5 years old, I have been practicing different type of martial arts. Unfortunately, all of that was put on hold last December when we found out that the pain in my leg is actually cancer.”
Last December, Ben was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, very rare type of cancerous tumor that grows in your bones or the soft tissue around your bones, such as cartilage or the nerves. Treatments have been difficult for Ben and his family - but one of the things that brings Ben the most comfort is being able to relax in the comfort of his own room.
“After every treatment, I’m staying in my room to recover,” writes Ben, “I like to relax with my favourite music, play video games with my friends, and spend time with my dog.”
When Ben and his family learned about The Dream Factory - he knew right away what his dream come true would be: a dream bedroom makeover to make this room the absolute perfect space.
“I was very excited when the nurse at CancerCare told me about The Dream Factory,” shared Ben, “my dream is to have a dream bedroom, with a very comfortable place to sit and sleep.”
