Who are you?
I’m Pete Buller, father of 2 beautiful girls ages 10 & 12. When I’m not spending time with my daughters, I work as a Mechanical Engineer or I look for interesting things to do or learn about. Or I volunteer for The Dream Factory. If I’m not doing any of the above, I’m probably doing laundry.
What is your current role with the organization and how did you get involved get involved with The Dream Factory.
I was looking for a volunteer organization to get involved with and when I learned about The Dream Factory it felt like it was the perfect fit for me. Having 2 children of my own means I have a lot of empathy for families with sick kids. I’m also born and raised in Winnipeg so I’m very proud of The Dream Factory being Manitoba focused. I do whatever I can to help out: office work, phone calls, deliveries, live auction, golf tournaments, Santa parade, etc.
What is your favourite thing about being involved with The Dream Factory?
I love meeting all the great volunteers and hearing the stories about how they became involved and how long they’ve been a part of The Dream Factory. I love being a part of an organization that puts smiles on the faces of children who really need some extra happiness in their lives. I love attending events that I probably wouldn’t go to if I wasn’t volunteering at them. And I love the free snacks lol
What do you like to do when you are not volunteering your time with The Dream Factory?
In my free time I love to play hockey with a great group of guys. I also love travelling and I look for every opportunity or excuse to go somewhere. But there’s also so much to do in the city so I take every opportunity to get together with friends to enjoy the many festivals, events, patios, music, etc. in Winnipeg.
If you could have a dream come true….what would it be?
I’m very fortunate that many of my dreams have already come true. I’m sure many more will. One dream I have is for everyone to be helpful to others, and generous in the gift of sharing.
